Wordless theatre for everyone
Without words but replete with expression, Teater TT tells stories about the inexplicable longings and dreams we all harbour. The style is a wonderful mixture of mime, acrobatics and wordless theatre.
Torkild Lindebjerg, (born 1954), self-taught actor and director, taught by Etienne Decroux, Yves Lebreton and Leonard Pitt. Worked with the Danish theatres Odin Teatret and Kaskade Teatret. Founded Teater TT in 1985.
Artistic profile
With a strong foundation in mime, acrobatics and wordless theatre, Teater TT creates powerful performances about the mysteries of life. Stories are told with a humorous mix of comedy and tragedy in an austere style. The simple stories often have a slapstick clown as a recurring character.
Teatret TT creates oases in which spectators are allowed to be amazed and to forget themselves, as they disappear into the captivating stories on stage. Like a serious game, the performances are aimed at both children and adults.
The company’s roots are solidly planted in the alternative theatre of the 1970s with the slogan “All Power to the Imagination.” The basic drive for the theatre’s work is the joy of storytelling, the creation of art as a force for inspiration in the lives of its audience.

Review extracts
”In his simple, yet highly-charged way, Hans Rønne stages his tragicomic clowns in an ordinary human landscape and takes his audience (of all ages) on an astounding journey along the winding paths of friendship. So, put on your hiking boots and catch The Fly while there’s time.”

”Yes, we can find the roots of the dream in Sherlock Jr., but that isn't important. Torkild Lindebjerg honours Buster Keaton by giving him a new life. The greatest pleasure in watching Stoneface is to hear the children's laughter. Uninhibited by any knowledge of the history of silent film comedy, the children respond with naked joy. That is what's important.”
